The Black Book Interactive Project is a collaborative research project that seeks to increase the number of black-authored texts in the study of digital humanities. By generating a metadata schema that accounts for race and race-related issues, we will correct the digital divide in black-authored texts. BBIP has been funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS). Scholars in this program have held meetings and delivered presentations at the College Language Association Convention.
The Project on the History of Black Writing is a research unit in the Department of English within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Kansas. Project HBW has been in the forefront of research and inclusion efforts in high education since its founding in 1983 at the University of Mississippi, Oxford. HBW is committed to literary recovery work in black studies; innovative scholarship, book history, and digital humanities; professional development and curriculum transformation; and public literacy programming.
The Call for Papers website, hosted by the Department of English at the University of Pennsylvania, houses calls from across the globe for conference paper proposals as well as calls for publications related to literatures, languages, and cultures. This is an invaluable resource for scholars at all stages of their professional careers who are searching for places to present their work, to network, and to publish their research. this online library is a celebration of black english and black language. i see it as a tool in political education as well. a place for communal learning.
